Quick Summary
- Anthropic made Claude Smart Reports, in-app surveys and pooled group budgets generally available for Claude Enterprise on 28 October 2026.
- Smart reports group a sampled team's Claude conversations into workstreams, show the spend and deliverables behind each one, and flag recurring pain points.
- Each organisation can run up to 10 smart reports a month at no extra charge, and the feature stays off until an owner turns it on.
- Pooled group budgets let a team share one monthly AI spending pool on top of each person's own individual limit.
Anthropic made Claude Smart Reports generally available on Claude Enterprise on 28 October 2026, along with in-app surveys and pooled group budgets. Smart reports read a sample of a team's Claude conversations and turn them into a plain report on what work got done, what it cost, and where people got stuck.
What are Claude Smart Reports?
A report starts with an admin picking one team, a date range of up to 28 days, and which Claude products to include: chat, Claude Code, Claude Cowork, or the combined chat and Cowork view. Claude groups the sampled work into workstreams, tags each one by the kind of deliverable it produced, such as analysis, documentation, drafts or code, and attaches the spend behind it at list price. The report also flags recurring pain points, such as a connector nobody set up, work that missed the original ask, or approval steps that slowed a task down, and keeps a separate, aggregate count of sessions that produced nothing usable at all. Generating one report usually takes a few hours, and the result downloads as an HTML file you can still click into for the detail.
Each smart report is based on tens of thousands of sessions, surfacing the most common pain points and the recurring workflows worth turning into skills. It's exactly the visibility we've been looking for to get more value out of Claude.from Ran Yitzhaki, Software Engineer, Wix (Claude, 28 October 2026)
What else changed with surveys and budgets?
In-app surveys add the team's own voice to that picture. Four default questions ask what was the most valuable thing someone did with Claude recently, how it changed the time that work took, which habit a teammate should copy, and what would break first if the team lost access. The survey shows up as a short card at a natural break, never interrupts a running task, takes about 90 seconds, and tells the user their answers go to their own admins, not to Anthropic. Pooled group budgets work alongside the individual spend limit every member already has: a team gets one shared monthly pool on top of that, so a heavy user is less likely to run dry early in the month while a colleague's budget sits unused. Admins with billing access get email alerts at 50, 75, 95 and 100 percent of a budget, and Anthropic's own setup guide suggests starting a pool at roughly three times the group's recent monthly spend.
How could your business use this?
Most small businesses are not on a Claude Enterprise plan, so smart reports are not a button you can click tomorrow. The habit underneath them costs nothing to copy, though. Ask your team once a month what they actually built with AI and what it saved them, note which tasks keep stalling, whether that is a missing login, a report nobody reads, or a rule nobody wrote down, and give a team one shared AI budget to manage instead of policing every person's usage separately. A clinic in Sabah running WhatsApp bookings through AI, or an accounting firm using Claude Cowork on monthly statements, can run the same check with a shared spreadsheet and five minutes in a staff meeting.

- Anthropic expanded Claude for Nonprofits with skills built alongside about 30 nonprofits, covering fundraising, hiring and governance work for small teams (Claude, 26 October 2026).
- Claude for Financial Advisors added connectors to custodians and CRMs such as Charles Schwab and Salesforce, so advisors spend less time assembling client information by hand (Claude, 27 October 2026).
- Google announced Gemini 4 Carbon, calling it its strongest model yet, and is giving cybersecurity defenders early access through its Fairwind Program before it reaches businesses and developers (Google, via Unite.AI, 28 October 2026).
What to do this week
You do not need Claude Enterprise to start. Pick one team task this week, ask two people doing it what worked and what got in the way, and write the answer down somewhere the whole team can see it. That is the same habit smart reports are trying to build into Claude itself. If you want your team practising good Claude and ChatGPT habits properly from the start, our AI Tool Mastery for Work Productivity program here in Kota Kinabalu covers exactly this kind of everyday tracking and workflow building.
Common Questions
- What are Claude's new smart reports?
- Smart reports are a Claude Enterprise feature that reads a sample of a team's Claude conversations over a chosen date range and writes up what work got done, what it cost at list price, and where people got stuck, usually ready to download as a report within a few hours.
- Do I need a Claude Enterprise plan to use smart reports?
- Yes. Smart reports, in-app surveys and pooled group budgets are generally available only on Claude Enterprise plans, and some setups, such as HIPAA configurations or customer-managed encryption keys, cannot use smart reports at all for now.
- What is a pooled group budget in Claude?
- A pooled group budget is one shared monthly spending pool for a team, sitting on top of each person's own limit. A member's Claude use stops once either the shared pool or their personal limit runs out, whichever happens first.
